The Minister of Lands Country Planning and the Environment, Dr Dennis Sandi has threatened the owner of the plot of beach land at Lumley that he will instruct the Chief Justice, Desmond Babatunde Edwards “to get rid of the matter once and for all,” sometime October 2019.
Dr Sandi made the prejudice remarks in the presence of a lawyer representing the Guinean national-Kelfa Camara alias Khapay Say who is illegally occupying the land in question, while perusing the land documents presented to him for his attention, by the land owner, Madam Annie Metzger, who had suffer so many injustices in the hands of previous ministers of lands, under the last All People’s Congress-APC administration, in the persons of Musa Tarawally, Aliue Momodu Pat Sowe and others.
Lands Minister Dr Sandi told Madam Metzger that he had already called the Chief Justice and instructed him to do away with the matter adding that if he had been a minister of lands by that time the portion of land was allocated to Madam Metzger; he wouldn’t have allocated the land in question to her.
Dr Sandi, she explained continued with explanations of her matter to the lawyer representing the Guinean in Mende to which she objected, as it was unprofessional, pointing out that she has a matter which the ministry to be heard and decide on but unfortunately for her Dr Sandi keep trivializing the matter. “I can’t speak nor hear Mende, so let’s speak another language as an official medium she told the minister.
When contacted the Minister of Lands Country Planning and the Environment, Dr Sandi on +23230621667 for his side of the matter, he couldn’t pick his calls nor reply to text messages.
