Freetown, April 4, 2026 (SLENA)-Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE) successfully concludeda  two-day Leadership and Management Training for staff, ending with a certification ceremony held on 2nd April 2026 at Civil Service Training College (CSTC).

The Human Resource Unit designed this capacity-building exercise, running from 1st April, to strengthen leadership skills, refine management practices, and boost institutional effectiveness across Ministry operations.

Day two commenced with a recap of the previous lessons delivered by Aruna William Saha, Senior Human Resource Officer at MTHE.

Director of Human Resources, Rebecca Saffa, opened proceedings by welcoming attendees and praising their energetic participation during initial sessions. She urged continued engagement throughout the final day.

First session featured Chernor I. Mansaray, Director of Performance Management at Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), who shared practical tools for improving performance within public institutions. Attendees actively contributed, exchanging workplace experiences and discussing persistent challenges.

The second session, guided by Dr. Mohamed Taylor, Rev. Dr. Olivia Wesley, and Permanent Secretary Mohamed Sheick Kargbo, focused on converting knowledge into tangible action. Group discussions enabled participants to draft practical action plans, applying newly acquired insights directly to daily responsibilities.

Post‑training assessment measured comprehension and learning outcomes among attendees.

The programme culminated in a certification ceremony recognising each participant’s dedication and successful completion.

Deputy Regional Director‑South, Dr. Ernest Lavalie, delivered closing remarks, commending participants for their commitment and urging immediate application of acquired competencies to elevate service delivery within the Ministry.
