A high powered delegation of Staff of Njala University led by the University Chancellor, Professor Moses Sahr Gevao has on Saturday 24th September 2022 paid a courtesy call on traditional leaders of host of Tikonko, Kakua, Kori and Dasse in southern of Sierra Leone.
Essence of the courtesy call according to the University Registrar, Dr. Muneer Jalloh was to introduce the newly appointed authorities of Njala University and expressed profuse gratitude to the authorities of the host Chiefdoms for their unflinching commitments and support towards the attainment of quality education in Sierra Leone and beyond.
Paramount Chiefs present at the induction meeting were Hon. P.C. Prince Lappia Boima of Kakua, Hon. P.C. Joe Kargbai Macavorey of Tikonko, P.C. Thomas Gbappy and Hon. P.C. Mema Kajui respectively thanked Njala University authorities for their fortitude amidst turbulence and admonished them to do their utmost in projecting the Image of the University as a centre of excellence and also positioned it to achieving Government’s Free Quality Education.
Chancellor, Professor Moses Sahr Gevao lauded the support of the host Chiefdoms for the lands acquired yet decried ongoing encroachments by some individuals and also disclosed plans for the establishment of a School of Medicine and Vetenary Medicine in Bo come January 2023.
Substantive Vice Chancellor and Principal, Professor Bashiru Mohamed Koroma and Deputy Vice Chancellor Njala Campus, Professor Alieu Mohamed Bah craved the indulgence of the Paramount Chiefs for harnessed opportunities and promised their quest for outcomes and desired results geared towards promotion of quality education and fulfilment of the University’s core mandates of Research, Teaching and Community Outreach.
Meanwhile, inauguration of the New University Authorities will take place on 27th September 2022 at the University Secretariat.
