The Golley family announces the opening of a Book of Condolences for their dearest Mother and Grandmother, the Late Minnette Iyatunde Honora Joyce Golley (nee Luke-Cole) aged 90.
Mrs Minnette Golley transitioned to eternity on Friday 15th August 2025, after a short illness, and at her home in Windsor, United Kingdom.
The family wishes to confirm that the funeral service and internment will take place at a date to be shortly confirmed at Windsor, in the United Kingdom. It is also envisaged that a memorial mass will be held in Freetown, Sierra Leone on or around the date of the funeral rites in England.
Meanwhile, and as a result of the outpouring of condolences in Sierra Leone, recognising the life of dear Mama Minnette, and the contributions of her late husband erstwhile Justice of Sierra Leone Court of Appeals the Honourable Justice Omrie Golley snr; and her only surviving son Ambassador Omrie Golley, Former Ambassador to the Republic of South Korea and a senior member of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Party, the family has resolved to open a book of condolences for sympathizers at this difficult time.
Members of the public can sign the Book of Condolences at the residence of Ambassador Omrie Golley, situated at Villa 2, Dream Atlantic Garden Villas, off Lumley Beach Road in Freetown, from Tuesday 19th August 2025 during the hours of 1pm to 8pm, daily, until the internment of the remains of dear Late Mrs Minnette Golley.
