The National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) has in a public notice dated 12 September 2024 informed stakeholders and the general public about the commencement of nationwide registration drive for all suppliers, contractors, and consultants in the country.
According to the public notice signed by the Chief Executive Officer, NPPA, Fodie J. Konneh, the registrations is a mandatory requirement for participant-suppliers and service providers in all bidding opportunities within Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), Local Councils and donor funded projects across the country.
It continued that the registrations process was intended to create an official database of qualified suppliers, contractors and consultants as service providers who meet the necessary requirements to participate in public procurement processes.
It furthered that the NPPA Board in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance has approved the process and key details regarding the registrations process were as follow:
1) Registration Start Date: 1st October 2024.
2) Required Document: Corporate Affairs Registration Certificate, NRA Tax Clarence NASSIT Certificate.
3) Registration Fees for National Businesses: Five Hundred Leones (Le500).
4) Registration Fee for Foreign Businesses: $100 and 5) Validity of Registration Certificate: One (1) Year and is renewable every year.
“The NPPA Board in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance has approved the process and key details regarding the registrations process were as follow:

4) Registration Fee for Foreign Businesses: $100
5) Validity of Registration Certificate: One (1) Year and is renewable every year,” part of the release stated.
It noted that only registered entities with a valid NPPA Registration Certificate would be eligible to participate in any public procurement bidding process effective October 1, 2024.
It also stated that all suppliers, contractors and consultants are encouraged to complete their registrations promptly to ensure their eligibility to participate in upcoming bidding opportunity.
It admitted that the NPPA remained committed to fostering a competitive and transparent procurement environment that contributes to the economic growth of Sierra Leone.
