The National Revenue Authority (NRA) demonstrated its commitment to civic engagement and public accountability by actively supporting the Presidential Town Hall Meeting held in Kenema District.

Organized by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MoICE), the event brought together hundreds of residents for direct dialogue with His Excellency the President, focusing on governance, economic development, and national priorities.

Leading the NRA’s delegation was the Deputy Commissioner General 1, Mrs. Ann-Marie Baby Harding, representing the Commissioner  General, who  reinforced the Authority’s strategic role in public financial management by integrating tax education into the national discourse.

An NRA outreach booth was set up at the event, providing the public with a wide range of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials. Staff were on hand to address taxpayer concerns, clarify compliance requirements, and guide participants on accessing NRA services. This hands-on engagement allowed local traders, entrepreneurs, and citizens to receive accurate, real-time information.

Participants commended the NRA’s presence and expressed appreciation for the rare opportunity to interact directly with tax officials. Local authorities also welcomed the Authority’s active participation, recognising it as a step forward in bridging the gap between rural communities and national institutions.

The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, acknowledged the NRA’s unwavering support and its critical role in sustaining government service delivery through effective domestic revenue mobilization.

As the session concluded, the Chief Minister, sector ministers, and heads of key MDAs engaged directly with NRA officials, underscoring the Authority’s importance in achieving national revenue goals.

The NRA remains committed to scaling up its tax education initiatives, deepening public trust, and fostering voluntary compliance, a key pillar in driving Sierra Leone’s development agenda.
