 A Sulaiman Stom Koroma’s Satire

In a bizarre twist straight out of a poorly scripted crime drama, the elusive “Omar Sherif” has become the phantom menace haunting the Sierra Leone government. The search for this mysterious figure resembling a white man accused of drug trafficking in Europe has left Sierra Leoneans scratching their heads and double-checking the church and farm videos. While the Dutch government is sure that Jos Leijdekkers was the man spotted in Sierra Leone and has called for his extradition, the Sierra Leone Government thinks it could have been a mistaken identity, saying that the same man is Omar Sherif.

Perhaps in a stroke of comedic misfortune, Omar Sherif seems to have mastered the art of invisibility upon setting foot in Sierra Leone. Despite the government’s insistence on not knowing his whereabouts, he remains as elusive as a unicorn in the mist, prompting the writer to joke that he must have taken lessons from Harry Potter on the Disillusionment Charm.

Qcell Qcell Qcell

As the search continues fruitlessly, one can’t help but wonder if Omar Sherif isn’t just a figment of someone’s overactive imagination or a clever ploy to keep the Duch government on its toes. Nevertheless, the Dutch government remains on high alert, ready to apprehend the enigmatic figure who seems to have vanished into thin air, leaving nothing but confusion and a good dose of scepticism in his wake.

With diamonds turning into stones in Sierra Leone, nothing is impossible.
