The Old Makeni Franciscans Association (OMFA), the body manning the affairs of the Alumni of St Francis Secondary School in Makeni has on the 3rd December 2025, unanimously elected a new executive to oversee their activities for the next three years. The new executive is led by Mr Desmond Ray Kanu, a well respected Engineer working for the National Minerals Agency (NMA). Engineer Desmond Ray Kanu has a high reputation of accountability and vast knowledge on institutional management which urged the elders and members of the association to elect him as president irrespective of his youthfulness.
The majority of the members of the association believe Engineer Desmond R Kanu will bring the necessary changes and development to the association. Mr Kanu believes in team work and he is of the conviction that, his executive will deliver the much anticipated development to lift the morale of the school. According to Mr Kanu, one of his key objectives is to return the school to its glory days and make sure the school regains its status in external examinations.

Kanu (Vice President) Mr Samuel Yusuf Tarawallie (Financial Secretary), Mr Yusuf M Turay (Organizing Secretary), Mr Sankey Sesay (Public Relations Officers), Mr John F Conteh (Treasurer), Madam Ramatu Wurie (Women’s Mobilizer), Mr Alia Bah (Auditor) Madam Mariama Adikalie Kamara (Deputy Organizing Secretary) and Mr Lansana Kawa Kerrah, serving as Deputy Secretary General.
