Over 200 representatives from the Ministry of Health, the National Association of Traditional Medicine, the Confucius Institute, and local communities attended the event. Dr. Brima Osaio Kamara, Director of Department of Primary Health Care, Richard Jinah Musa, Director of Traditional and Alternative Medicine, along with Dr. Liu Longfei, Captain of CMT, and Mrs. Wu Cui, Dean of the Confucius Institute, delivered speeches, fully affirming the significance of traditional medicine exchanges between China and Sierra Leone.
CMT organized a “Chinese Medicine for the Elderly” free clinic, offering free acupuncture, massage, cupping, moxibustion, and health consultations to local residents. Medical personnel from both countries also exchanged views on pharmacological mechanisms and clinical applications of traditional medicine. CMT also conducted “First responder” training for faculty and students of the University of Sierra Leone, focusing on the theory and practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
