One Manifesto Lunch… Samura Promises Better Living Wage

The presidential candidate of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), party, Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara has during the launched of the party’s “One Nation Manifesto 2023” has promised to create a pathway for every adult, especially the youth and women to earn a living wage, thereby intensifying efforts in job creation. Through sustainable cross sectorial interventions, Dr. Samura Kamara vowed, “we shall collaborate with local and international partners to create job and simultaneously reform and capacitate the civil and public service to priorities efficient effective service delivery”.

Speaking on accelerating foreign trade, commerce and direct foreign investments with specific focus on capacitating children, women and youth, Dr. Kamara promised enhanced efficient and equitable social spending, elevating the quality of life and explicitly caring for the most venerable segments of the population, which will include women, youth and the physically challenged.

Under Dr. Samura Kamara’s vision, ‘Accelerating Investments in Physical and Digital Infrastructure Development’, the president in waiting said he shall pursue responsible investments in energy, transportation, water supply, urban planning, affordable housing and infrastructure.

Additionally, Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara also assured the electorate of fostering the regulatory framework for mutually beneficial partnerships with the private sector international financial institutions, development agencies and regional economic bodies.

The long serving civil servant now seasoned politician told the nation that he will deepen and strengthen Decentralization and Rural Development by reviving the nation’s Decentralization programme and support the administrative and financial empowerment of all local councils on a fundamental accountability, respect and fairness.

The opposition presidential candidate promised that urgent measures will be put in place to restore the confidence of the country’s development partners in what he described as a critical pillar of the country progress.

“We shall also restore respectability of our chiefdom government structures and facilitate their effective functioning” Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara.

Dr. Samura Kamara promised to uphold democratic principles, protect Human Rights, intensify the fight against corruption and build robust institutions, under a pillar he called Enhance Democratic Good Governance and the Rule of Law.

He also promised to give power to the people by creating platforms for citizens to make inputs into decision making process and to hold government accountable for its actions or inactions.

Protect our Environment and Respond to Climate Change, Samura Kamara’s One Nation Manifesto promised to roll out improved natural resources management strategies climate changing focused mitigation and adaptation measures, that he noted will include the creation of green jobs.

With regards Strengthen Economic Diplomacy, Dr. Samura Kamara intended to foster strategic partnership with other jurisdiction, align priorities, ensure value for money in ongoing and future investments and pursue mutually beneficial partnership with deep respect for their taxpayers while safeguarding the country sovereignty and national integrity.

With Samura Kamara’s willingness to lead, he disclosed that he will foster partnership with the Diaspora for national development to map diaspora’s network, collectively identify areas of expertise and create a welcoming environment for mutually beneficial engagements and investments.
