Sierra Leone’s leading telecoms service provider, Orange has spent NLe11m or Le11 billion for 2022 in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The huge sum is spent in the construction of five early childhood development centres also know as nursery schools in remote villages of five districts: Kambia, PortLoko, Pujehun, Moyamba and Bonthe.

Construction of the schools is part of the company’s contribution to government’s Free Quality Education project.

Orange SL also spent NLe1m or Le 1billion to roll back Corona when it struck the country in March, 2020.

One of the biggest slum communities in Freetown, Kroo Bay too had got a fair share of the company’s CSR.

A newly renovated health centre stands at the heartland of the slum community where pregnant women can safely deliver.

It is the company’s contribution to government’s Free Health Care policy which caters for pregnant women, under-five children and lactating mothers. It goes a long way to curtail the rolling statistics of infant and maternal mortality rate in Sierra Leone.

The company also spent huge sums of money in the development of education portals for students to access online lectures and tutorials in the emergency period between 2020 and 2021.

Orange has been in Sierra Leone for only six years, yet it has stamped its CSR footprints across the country with an ambition of driving socio-economic development.

Orange, a multi-service provider and a responsible corporate social investment, believes in the philosophy of philanthropy.

The company’s philanthropy accounts for the company’s positive impact on the people of Sierra Leone.

As an operator, Orange has a responsibility of not only providing support for events and other sponsorship activities, but also support sustainable development in all areas of operations.

These areas range from corporate contributions, environmental activities for green energy, building of early learning development centres and other philanthropic activities to meet society’s socio-economic needs.
