Sierra Leonean International defender Osman Kakay has announced his departure from Queens Park Rangers, bringing an end to an illustrious Career that began when he was just seven years old.
Queens Park Rangers Football Club, commonly abbreviated to QPR, is a professional association football club based in Shepherd’s Bush, West London, England. The team competes in the EFL Championship, the second level of the English football league system.
In a short statement from Osma Kakay, he informed his fans and extension to the footballing world that it time for him to say goodbye to his boyhood club. He said from 7 he had called QPR his home and he is forever grateful for everything the club did for him and his family.
“It’s time to say goodbye to my boyhood club. From the age of 7 I’ve called QPR my home and forever grateful for everything the club has done for me and my family,” he stated.
He noted that he had come through the academy and eventually going on to make 100 appearance for the club means so much to him.
“Coming through the academy and eventually going on to make over 100 appearances for the club means so much to me especially being a local boy growing up in South Kilburn,” he noted. He thanks all those who assisted him in achieving that milestone and wished QPR all the best in the future.
“I would like to say thank you to all the coaches and staff that have supported me throughout this journey. All my teammates that I have played with it’s has been a pleasure to share the pitch with so many. Finally to the fans who have stuck by me through the highs and lows. It’s been a pleasure and wishing the club all the best for the future,” he said.
QPR are currently in the 18th position out of 24 teams in the championship. They have lost 20, draw 11 and won 15 matches out of 46 games played. Osman Kakay is heading for a new chapter and we wish him all the best.
