News making the rounds are that Pa Salieu is reported to have solidly thrown his weight behind Pa Alhaji Ishmeal Kargbo in support of his candidacy for the Regent Chief position Sellah Limba Chiefdom.
He said his reasons for vying for the Regent Chieftaincy seat were that he was the local court chairman, adding that he had been to the Holy Land of Mecca. He noted that he is contributing to community developments, and emphasized that he is a God-fearing man which is very important to guide him in his leadership role. He pointed out that his work in the cattle rearing in Sierra Leone has contributed to national development.
When interviewed by this medium, Alhaji Ishmael Alieu Kargbo stated that he is matured and a citizen responsible to be a Regent C. He added that he has witnessed the reign of eight Paramount Chiefs in the region. He explained that the process of choosing a Paramount Chief involves the death of the host Paramount Chief, followed by a ritual ceremony to choose a new Paramount Chief.
He added that if he becomes the Regent Chief, he would unite the ruling houses together in the chiefdom, emphasizing that the government does not have the right to select the Paramount Chief, adding that it is the people who have that right. He concluded by stating that if he becomes the Regent Chief, it would be an inclusive governance in his chiefdom.
