Mattru Jong Police Station is in custody of four suspects for allegedly beating up Nickson Collier, a commercial motorbike rider. The suspects were identified by the police as pharmacists.
According to police, the complainant, Nickson Collier approached a drug seller at his pharmacy to purchase drugs but was rejected and beaten up mercilessly by four pharmacists, leaving him with serious injuries in his head and other parts of his body.
Nickson Collier, the police continued made a report and a medical request form was issued to him for possible examinations and treatments at the UBC Hospital in Mattru.
He explained to the police that he does not know the four suspects by their names but assured the police that he can identify them if seen in persons.
The Town Chief of Mattru, Edna Tucker together with the Chiefdom Speaker, Francis Theophilus Kapanabum and other stakeholders have tried settling the issues but to no avail.
The Local Unit Commander Bonthe Division, CSP Augustine Kabia assured the authorities that the police will do their best to investigate the matter and charge it to court.
