The National Traffic Coordinator (NTC) in the Sierra Leone Police Force, Chief Superintendent of Police Thomas Dauda Conteh on Tuesday 19 July 2022 informed this medium at his Central Police office in Freetown that his department has raised Le1,222 million through fines levied against road traffic offenders enlightening that the offences include driving without a valid licence, commercial motorbike riders plying the Central Business District (CBD) of the city for which they have been persistently warned, driving an insured vehicle or motorbike among other offences and clarified that the money has been deposited into the Government Consolidated Revenue Fund.

He disclosed that he and his hardworking, brave and committed team are working assiduously to prevent crimes in their operational area for which violators are arrested, charged to court and fined in addition to impounding motorbikes, tricycles and vehicles and revealed that he was transferred from State House to beef up the team to help minimize the influx of commercial motorbikes in the CBD for which he has been commended by various stakeholders including the Inspector General of Police himself, the police Executive Management Board and the public for his commitment and dedication to duty.

Chief Superintendent of Police Thomas Dauda Conteh has carved a niche for himself both at home and abroad to the applause and admiration of the police high command and attributed his achievements to the support from his bosses, especially his immediate boss, Assistant Inspector General of Police Brima Kanneh, the Director of Traffic Management and Road Safety that has resulted to the free flow of traffic in the city.

He concluded by commending the various District Traffic Officers in the city for their relentless efforts, support and loyalty to his administration and warned them against corruption and other offences reminding them that they are not above the law.
