Port Loko Records More SLPP MPs than Councillors

Following the announcement of results in the just conclude 24 June 2023, multi-tier election for MPs and Councillors by the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) Chairman Mohamed Kenewui Konneh, which recorded more Members of Parliament (MPs’) seats than councillors in Port Loko district.

According to findings by this medium the ECSL National Returning Officer Konneh announced four (4) seats won for MPs) and two seats for councillors in Port Loko by the incumbent Sierra Leone People’s Party – SLPP.

The results indicates that there were some mistakes made along the line in the tallying and tabulation   processes.

The ECSL National Returning Officer and Chief Electoral Commissioner, Konneh announcing the figures, shows that there are more MPs than Councillors.

Konneh’s analysis of the total number for councillors’ seats won by the SLPP in Port Loko are two seats and MPs four seats.

Konneh earlier announced eight-one MPs seats and two hundred and seventy Councillors for the SLPP.
