Political Parties Registration Commission on Wednesday 24 August 2022 engaged political parties on voter registration, scheduled to start from the 3 September to 4 October 2022, launched at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown.Addressing leaders and representatives of political parties the PPRC Chairman, Abdulai Masiyambay Bangurah, told the 17 political parties present at the launch of the voter registration to engage in robust sensitization on the importance of the process.
The PPRC Chairman, in a news brief issued from the commission’s secretariat, informed that the commission with funds from the government is set to deploy the membership of the All Political Parties Youth Association (APPYA) and the All Political Parties Women’s Association to also encourage Sierra Leoneans of voting age to come out from 3 September to 4 October 2022 to be registered by the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL).
He said the collective participation of all “will contribute enormously towards making the process inclusive, credible and transparent”.
Chairman Bangurah advised political parties not to engage in any form of campaigning during the exercise as the ECSL is yet to declare the start of the campaign, adding that the PPRC will continue its collaboration with the ECSL.
