The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has officially called on the leadership of the All Peoples Congress (APC) to provide a formal response to a complaint filed by Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden against Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, and the current leadership of the party.
The request, made in a letter dated March 19, 2025, was addressed to APC Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya Esq., and followed a formal grievance lodged by Blyden on March 18, 2025.
In the letter, the PPRC stated that it had received a formal complaint from Dr. Blyden, a member of the APC, and requested that the party thoroughly review the issues raised in the complaint.
The Commission further emphasized the importance of providing a written response to the grievance. “The Commission requests that the party looks at the complaint and provides a written response. We appreciate your prompt attention to this issue,” the letter reads.
As part of its official communication, the PPRC also sent a copy of Blyden’s formal complaint to the APC leadership for their reference, a development that comes amid increasing tensions within the APC, as the party grapples with internal issues surrounding its leadership and governance.
When contacted by AYV Media for comment, Dr. Blyden confirmed the filing of the complaint.
She expressed that her decision to take formal action was the result of having exhausted all internal party mechanisms to address her grievances. “Yes, I have filed a complaint yesterday, March 18th, 2025, against Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray and the APC leadership after I exhausted all internal grievance mechanisms for redress,” Dr. Blyden stated.
Dr. Blyden explained that the complaint was not just a personal matter but one that had broader implications for the entire APC membership.
She stressed that her primary concern was the future of the party and its direction under the current leadership. “I cannot sit by and watch the current leadership take the APC back to the doldrums of infamy; so I have stepped in to save our APC party,” she asserted, underscoring her dedication to ensuring the party’s future success.
The complaint, which is reported to span a total of 14 pages, includes several attachments detailing the issues Dr. Blyden has raised. The contents of the complaint have not been fully disclosed to the public, but its submission marks a significant moment in the ongoing internal struggles within the APC.
The request by the PPRC to the APC leadership has added another layer of urgency to the situation, as party officials are now expected to address the matter promptly.
The outcome of the request emanating from the letter could have far-reaching consequences for the APC’s leadership structure and the party’s image among the electorate.
As the situation unfolds, political observers and party members alike are closely monitoring developments within the APC. The response from the party leadership will be crucial in determining the next steps in this ongoing dispute; and it remains to be seen how the matter will be resolved in the coming days.
