Seven Sierra Leoneans who were unavoidably absent during last year’s Insignia awards and reception ceremony were today 8 February 2018 presented with Insignia Awards by President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma at a brief ceremony at State House in Freetown.
According to the Secretary to the President Mr Emmanuel B. Osho Coker, since the recipients were out of the jurisdiction of Sierra Leone the president was unable to present them with their awards.
The recipients were Hon. Justice Vivian Margaret Solomon who was awarded the Grand Commanded of the Order of the Rokel in recognition of her dedicated and meritorious services to the state particularly in the legal profession, Mr Ali Forna was awarded Commander of the Order of the Rokel in recognition of his distinguished services to the state particularly in rural development, Paramount Chief Bai Kurr Kanagbaro Sanka was awarded Officer of the Order of the Rokel in recognition of his distinguished and meritorious services to the state, Mr Denis Frank Kofi was awarded Member of the Order of the Rokel in recognition of his dedicated services to the state for over thirty-two years, Major Sahr David Thomas was awarded Member of the Order of the Rokel in recognition of his outstanding performance and leadership as Chief Instructor at the Peace Mission Training Centre, Mr Joseph Mamboh was awarded Member of the Order of the Rokel in recognition of his distinguished and dedicated services to the state for over thirty-six years and Mr Brima Mazola Kamara was awarded Presidential Silver Medal for his exemplary performance in football.
