Koroma and 11 others on 15th June 2022 at the Operational Support Divisional (OSD) Headquarters, infamously known as Benghazi in Freetown. They were charged to court on two counts charge of disorderly behaviour and riotous conduct on the 17th June 2022.
A three days trail was held at the Magistrate Court No 2 and a judgement was delivered on 27th June 2022 and one accused person was acquitted and discharged, and others sentenced. Their defence team led by Pa Fofanah in July filed an appeal to the High Court of Sierra Leone. The appeal file came up in late August and the case was assigned to Justice Adrain Fisher of High Court No 1.
They have made more than eight appearances and the argument between the state and the defence counsels is yet to commence due to the failure of Magistrate Mark Ngegba to provide the required documents needed for the argument.
However, Ibrahim Koroma stated in his statement to the police at Benghazi said that he went to the OSD HQ where LAJ was initially detained, as a media practitioner and also the National Secretary General of the Sierra Leone DJs Union (SLeDU) to get first-hand information about the cutting of dreadlocks of LAJ, and had also wanted to confirm if the detainee was indeed injected with a blue liquid as claimed by social media reports. He said it is his responsibility to accurately inform which was why he went to Benghazi in a bid to get reliable information. He was arrested alongside some set of people who also went to the said place to check for the wellbeing of LAJ.
Prezo Koroma as he is known for his popular online TV show on Sierra Network, dubbed “Prezo Koroma’s Koroma and also “Manage D Damage” on Kalleone Radio 105.7 FM.
