With support from the Sierra Leone’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Professor David John Francis, the Fidential Bailor Bah Foundation has on the 25th, 26th and 27th May 2023 engaged its people on nonviolence sensitization campaign in Kenema District Eastern Region.
The theme for this year’s event was “Promoting Non-Violent Conversation Through Education Before, During and After Elections for National Cohesion and Quality Democracy.
According to the Founder and Executive Director, Fidential Bailor Bah, the campaign was a way to broadly educate members of the public on nonviolence related matters and a way of embracing peace in order for us to have peaceful general elections June 24, 2023 and thereafter.
The foundation’s team reached out to marketplaces, parks, stakeholders, radio and tv stations, including different social media platforms as a means to preach out the message.
He further said, it is being said that we can change Sierra Leone if we can just show people how they can organize non-violently, we cannot fail. Nonviolence has never failed when it is tried.
He encouraged all and sundry to channel all grudges and grievances to the appropriate authorities for action and advised all authorities to treat all complaints swiftly and fairly.
In his conclusion, the nonviolence sensitization campaign will continue in different ways and communities.
