Qcell, one of Sierra Leone’s fastest growing telecommunications companies, has distributed Ramadan Iftar food items to several mosques across the country as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts aimed at supporting Muslim communities during the holy month.
The initiative, carried out by members of the company’s marketing team, forms part of Qcell’s commitment to promoting faith, unity and compassion during Ramadan. The holy month is observed by Muslims worldwide through fasting, prayer and acts of charity.
During the distribution exercise, the marketing team informed worshippers that Qcell remains dedicated to supporting its subscribers and communities across Sierra Leone. They noted that as a responsible telecommunications company, the welfare of customers and the wider community remains a key priority for the company.
According to the team, the decision to distribute food items to various mosques was intended to support Muslim faithful who gather each evening to break their fast during Iftar.
They explained that Ramadan is widely regarded as a time of sharing, compassion and togetherness, and that Qcell considered it important to extend support to worshippers observing the fast.
“As a company that serves the people of Sierra Leone, we believe it is important to reach out to communities, especially during significant moments like Ramadan,” members of the team said while presenting the items at some of the mosques.
The team further noted that since the start of Qcell’s operations in the country, the company has continued to receive strong support from the people of Sierra Leone, which has contributed significantly to its growth and success in the telecommunications sector.
They expressed appreciation to subscribers and communities for their continued loyalty and trust in the company over the years.
“We are grateful for the love and support we have received from the people of Sierra Leone. This distribution of food items to mosques is our own way of giving back to the community and showing appreciation,” the team added.
Worshippers who received the items commended Qcell for what they described as a thoughtful and timely gesture during the sacred month of Ramadan.
They noted that the donation would help provide meals for Muslim faithful who gather at the mosques every evening to break their fast after a long day of fasting.
The worshippers also offered prayers for the company and its staff, asking for continued blessings and success in their operations.
They said remembering the Muslim community during such an important religious period reflects the company’s commitment to supporting communities beyond the provision of telecommunications services.
