A rape victim, Mamusu Kamara of Kassirie, Samu Chiefdom, Kambia District in the northwest region of Sierra Leone, can no longer make it back to her home community, due to an alleged murder of a man old enough to be her granddad.
She is on the run for an alleged murder of a local chief who reportedly raped her on 27 December 2021, after she a force marriage to the perpetrator. As a result of the weight of the accident, the victim fled Kassirie, Samu Chiefdom Kambia District in the Northwest region of Sierra Leone on Saturday 1 January 2022, to an unknown destination for fear for her life.
It allegedly occurred on 27 December, 2021 at a local hospital after the chief who had raped Mamusu Kamara, was pushed by the victim, he hit his head on the wall, fell asthmatic, hospitalized, and died later at a community medical facility, which caused the deadly escape of the young lady on 1st January 2022. Family sources are that up to the time of engaging this medium the exact whereabouts of Mamusu Kamara remains unknown.
Though the cause of his death remains unclear, the rapist’s family blamed the victim for the death of their relative. And in several attempts trying to retaliate at the victim failed, as she escaped with a friend to neighbouring Guinea for safety. And the rapist’s siblings however ended up taking the life of the victim’s mother, having missed her.
This according to report, since in the wake of the said accident to date, the victim (Mamusu Kamara) cannot return to her home community of Kassirie for fear for her life.
It could be recalled that long before the accident, the victim had trice denied a hand in marriage to her perpetrator, the local chief who raped her.
