As part of the financial institution’s corporate social responsibility the management and staff of Rokel Commercial Bank apart from its numerous involvements in community development strides, ranging from general cleanings, responses to humanitarian needs of communities, has also robustly championed the fight against the resisting global coronavirus-COVID19 pandemic through consistent social mobilization and community engagements.
The bank’s interventions come in from multiple fronts with so many approaches in complementing government’s efforts for the containment of the militating COVID19 pandemic. These are normally rendered in the forms of precautionary and public health education messages, material and logistical support from the RCBank.
Such reactions emerge amidst increasing number of cases of COVID19 with alarming cumulative death toll nationwide, which is why the management and staff of RCBank under the astute leadership of MD Dr Gilpin and team are regularly busy complementing government’s efforts in fighting the virus to save lives.
RCB has since the hit of the COVID19 pandemic been engaged with the provision of not only physical funds, but it is also preoccupied with the provisions personal protective equipment, hand washing materials, alcohol solutions, veronica buckets, goggles, gloves, hand sanitizers hand washing stations among several other anti-COVID19 eradication kits.
The Managing Director Dr Dayo E. Gilpin and his team of committed and dedicated staff in numerous efforts geared toward complementing government’s relentless strides in containing the COVID19 pandemic continue to raise public awareness and sensitizations about the dangers of coronavirus, by ways of designing posters, flyers, and stickers carrying key messages all in furtherance to help communicate the deadliness of coronavirus to the greater sections of the public.
Dr Gilpin’s efforts do not only stop at the display of posters, flyers and car stickers, but also placed public service announcements carrying vital information on local television channels that run round the clock to help inform and educate the public about the global pandemic.
Internally, working banking environments across the country, RCBank staff nationwide led by Dr Gilpin have also scaled up the mask up campaign by using face mask throughout working hours, at their various home with strict regular implementations of social and physical distancing measures right across the bank’s branches.
Hand washing being another firm component of the preventive measures, every RCBank branch is set with hand washing stations to ensure that customers and visitors wash their hands with anti-bacteria detergent materials before entering the banking halls for any transactions, other offices within RCBank as it happens in all other public buildings, during the pandemic and even afterwards. Observers say it is RCBank alone can assure its customers of maximum safety against the global COVID 19 pandemic to save lives.
Face mask are always used before customers access any RCBanking premises, while adhering to avoidance of touching of the face, mouth, nose, eyes and other forms of body contacts as in sync with international standard operating procedures recommended by the World Health Organization’ and masking up is now being mandatory.
Also on one of the wall bills produced with the portrait of RCBank MD, Dr Gilpin reads; “STAY SAFE WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER,” encouraging all to continue to stay safe by using face masks, avoidance of body contacts, strictly complies with regular hand washing measures to ensure that RCBank’s customers are highly protected from contracting the virus.
The more reasons security personnel are always deployed at the entrances of RCBank premises everywhere one goes, to ensure that customers entering all RCBanks are properly masked up, wash their hands, apply hand sanitizers and undergo temperature tests as instructed by management of the bank.
On that note, all staff of the RCBank are in full compliance with the COVID19 containment measures being put in place by government through the line Ministry of Health and Sanitation and development partners since the pandemic hit Sierra Leone.
