32yrs old Sahr Amarah made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba Road Court No.6 in Freetown, on two count charges to wit wounding contrary to Section 20 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861 and Assault occasioning to actual bodily harm contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 24th October 2022 at State Avenue the Western Area in Freetown maliciously wounded and assaulted Amna Amarah in a manner thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm. When the charges were read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor told the bench that the fact as charge no available records against the accused person.
The accused person was unrepresented and he pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.
However Magistrate Gogra sentenced the accused person to twelve months imprisonment to the Male Correctional Center in Freetown.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Abdul Sannoh prosecuted the matter.
