A true leader cares for the well-being of the people. A true leader continuously seeks the interest of his people. These are just some attributes that Dr. Richard Konteh has demonstrated over the years. In the rain, thunder or sunshine, he would always be there for the people. His registering last week at Gbendembu was a direct request by the people of Gbendembu Ngowahun Chiefdom, Bombali District.
Before the commencement of the first phase of the voter registration, Dr Richard Konteh dispatched teams across the country to sensitize the people with support to all the districts, zones and constituencies. Dr Konteh directly supported his home district of Bombali and was involved in the sensitization of registrants in constituencies 031 and 032, respectively.
On Friday 30 September 2022, D-Unifier, Dr Richard Konteh, was in Kambia town in the north-west for a funeral service of the late wife of a friend and brother, Alhaji Mohamed Sheriff Sapateh (former WAEC HNO). After the funeral rites, the dynamic politician engaged and encouraged the people of Kambia town and Bamoi in Constituency 059 to push harder with the registration in the last few days of the voter registration. He told them how significant voter registration is. “It is only when you register you can determine who your next leaders will be,” he said, informing all “that voter registration is a civic responsibility of every eligible citizen”.
The people-centred politician departed Kambia district late last night and drove to Makeni to register in his hometown of Gbendembu on Saturday, 1 October. He registered with his wife, Madam Isatu Zama Konteh, with other Unifier members.
