Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger has showcased his patriotism to Sierra Leone at the Wembley Stadium after Real Madrid’s 15th UEFA Champions League title triumph over Borussia Dortmund.
Rüdiger who was born in Germany to a German father and a Sierra Leonean mother, has carried out numerous charitable initiatives to help address poverty in the small West African nation.
Antonio Rüdiger has said in a recent interview with Real Madrid that his dream is “to create a lot of jobs” in his mother’s home country of Sierra Leone.
He already started a foundation to help underprivileged people in the country, and he previously donated over $100,000 to support free quality education and gave all of his 2022 World Cup earnings to fund life-changing surgeries for children in need.
He may not be representing Sierra Leone at the international big stage but he’s always proud of his Sierra Leonean roots.
Antonio Rüdiger also had the Sierra Leonean flag during his presentation as a Real Madrid player.

The German but whose mother is from Sierra Leone was a rock at the back for Los Blancos throughout the tournament, expressed his joy and pride on social media, particularly dedicating the win to his connection with Sierra Leone, his “second home.”
Rüdiger’s celebratory post echoed chants of “Sierra Leone” This heartfelt gesture highlights the defender’s strong bond with the African nation.
This Champions League victory undoubtedly adds another chapter to Rüdiger’s remarkable career, further solidifying his place among Real Madrid’s legends.
