Ag. Station Manager of SALWACO, Lungi, Kuffu Bullom Chiefdom, Ing. Lovetta Mammy has informed that there has been increased improvement on water supply in Lungi, Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom, Port Loko District, North-West region.
She was speaking during the wake of concerns on water supply stability in the Chiefdom.
She said that water supply has now been restored in all three zones, adding that Tintafor covers Zone One and that the old Airport & Perimeter, account for Zone Two.
She said that every week, SALWACO provides water two times per area.
Ing. Lovetta Mammy furthered that recently, maintenance had taken place at the Suctarr Pumping Station and at the Garrison Barracks.
She sated that there has been water in tanks, but affirmed that there was an issue with the pipeline, but informed that the SALWACO management had been informed to address same.
On the challenges, she said that the Abestos pipes were now old and that they need some repairing. She also disclosed that most areas have DI pipes which is fine, and urged that same was replicated in other areas.
SALWACO’s urge to provide water for people is been replicated in all areas of operations. Same is in line with the vision and mission of the institution. Customers and clients are however also greatly encouraged to swiftly pay for services and in time, to see that the company will be able to meet its targets in record time.
