The leader and presidential candidate of the main opposition, All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara and others standing trial in the Sierra Leone Permanent Mission at the United Nations in New York Chancery building matter, will make his first appearance in court today-Friday 14th July, after the June 24 elections. The matter at High Court No.1, is being presided over by Hon. Justice Aidrian Fisher.
According to the charges, Dr. Samura M.W. Kamara continues his trial on alleged corruption and misappropriation of public funds.
It was also alleged by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) that the APC Leader ‘misled the principal’ misappropriated public funds meant for the renovation of Sierra Leone Chancery building in New York.
Dr. Samura Kamara served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation and in other prominent positions in the Ernest Bai Koroma administration.
Since the start of the hearing unto date, Dr. Samura Kamara continues to deny all allegations, noting the case was politically motivated aimed at smearing his good image and hard-won reputations that he had built over the years.
