A flagbearer hopeful of opposition APC party has brought to public domain an alleged superstitious belief held by the party’s two-time flagbearer, Dr. Samura Wilson Kamara, saying the octogenerian politocian nurtures a peculiar and misgiving notion against the party membership, especially the national office by claiming that stepping his feet at the Old Railway Line Headquarters means automatic death for him.
According to Dr. Richard Konteh who made the revelation today in SLBC’s regular talk show ‘Morning Coffee’, Dr. Samura has practically refused to go to the party office on the superstitious instruction of his aged mother, who claims his son’s life is in danger from party membership and that he risks death any time he avails himself at the Brookfields HQ.
“Dr. Samura has decided to fight for electoral justice away from the party office. He said his mother has told him that he would be killed if he steps his feet at the National Headquarters of the APC in Freetown.”
Dr. Konteh said that has made the internal political situation difficult to handle because the failed 2023 presidential candidate still commands following and support within the APC.
“But he should own up to the fact that the issue of electoral justice is not on the party agenda. I still believe the 2023 elections were stolen by the SLPP, but since the APC party did not go to court, everything is over.” He said it was Dr. Samura who called for a dialogue and he was among the signatories for the Tripartite Committee formation so where does the electoral justice fight lie?”
When asked about the current position of Dr. Samura in the party, he said he remains a respectable figure and a senior member. “We cannot discard him; we are merely encouraging him to know that everything is over about the 2023 elections. What is important now is getting the internal structures right,” he posited; noting however, that the issue of Dr. Samura is delicate. “But in the interest of the party we need to equally handle his matter delicately.”
