Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara is a national character and an embodiment of the party values. He is the son of a driver, born in Segbwema, Kailahun District. He sat his Selective Entrance in Makeni, Bombali District and obtained secondary education in Bo and Freetown.
Sarjoh is the product of the tapestry of Sierra Leone and the many arms of our cultural and national heritage. Sarjoh is a son of the nation and draws from his diverse national perspective and experience in his professional work. This blend gives him a unique advantage to attract nationwide support for the party.
Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara is qualified for this role through an exemplary record of strategic initiative and impactful decision-making. He has over two decades of diverse experience ranging from United Nations operations across Africa, the public sector and non-governmental organizations.

More than qualified for the role, Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara is prepared to tackle the complexities of governance and party politics head-on. He has mastered leadership and management, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management from the Chartered Management Institute, UK. Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara studied at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) UK, The University of Sunderland UK and Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone and graduated with a very sound MSc, MBA and B.A. Hons respectively.
Professionally, he has worked with the United Nations as a Political, Civil Affairs and Security Sector Reform Officer. He also contributed immensely to the SLPP National Decentralisation Agenda as Capacity Building Manager of the World Bank-funded Institutional Reform and Capacity Building Project. Upon his appointment as the Deputy Minister of Technical and Higher Education in 2021, Sarjoh resigned from the United Nations to serve his country and facilitate the vision of President Bio to transform Sierra Leone.
Sarjoh has proudly been a rooted and active SLPP member since his school days in 1991 at the onset of multi-party democracy in Sierra Leone. His commitment to the Sierra Leone People’s Party is generational; he is not a recent member and has flown the green flag for his lifetime. As a university student in 1996, he campaigned for SLPP for a fresh wave of victory and return to power.
Furthering his outstanding and proven track record, he served as SLPP United Kingdom Secretary General (2011/2012) with a key role in the transformation of the SLPP UKI. During this moment in opposition, the SLPP was an unattractive name in the diaspora and he was at the vanguard of the movement to ensure that the party was recognized, uplifted and financed to operate as a functional and united opposition.
Beyond this, Sarjoh’s leadership is a force that mobilizes and connects with the grassroots and has thus been integral to the operations and contributions of the SLPP Liberia Chapter and SLPP Green Family in South Sudan when he worked for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
Sarjoh has always been a champion of party affairs with the incisive ability to bring party loyalists and the grassroots together and inspire an action that reflects “One Country, One People”. He served as one of the key architects of the SLPP Global Bounce Back Initiative in the aftermath of the 2007 regime change. In 2008, Sarjoh raised a petition with the British parliament holding the APC party to account for the attack on the SLPP party office. He has made significant contributions towards mobilizing membership, fundraising and campaign strategy for return to power.
Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara is a candidate who believes that handling the administrative role of the Sierra Leone People’s Party is a critical role that goes beyond mere political manoeuvring. Most recently, he served as a co-opted member on the SLPP 2023 election manifesto and communications committees that put together the people’s manifesto of the SLPP. He also served as the 2023 Elections Zonal Commander in Kailahun District working with party apparatus to ensure a reliable and resounding victory.
Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara is contesting on a solid action plan that will build on the existing administrative framework and revitalize systemic transformation that reflects the cardinal principles of the SLPP.

As a present and committed father to young girls, Sarjoh’s advocacy for youth and gender empowerment and his commitment to opportunities for all – especially persons living with disabilities, stems from his heart and is embedded into every facet of his being.
