As part of activities marking Open Government Week 2023, Afrobarometer will co-host a virtual event to discuss the state of democracy and open governance in Africa with Twaweza, a like-minded organisation devoted to amplifying African voices in policy and decision-making processes.
We’re thrilled to announce that former President of Sierra Leone, H.E. President Ernest Bai-Koroma, will be joining us for this dialogue on ‘Making democracy work in and for Africa.’ His experience and leadership will bring invaluable insights to the conversation.
Our distinguished lineup of speakers includes Hon. Yvonne Aki-Sawyer, Mayor of Freetown; Dr. Ken Opalo, assistant professor of political science at Georgetown University; Malik Lingani, OGP Civil Society Lead, Francophone West Africa; Farida Bemba Nabourema; Josiah Wandera; Joseph Asunka, Afrobarometer CEO; Aidan Eyakuze, Executive Director of Twaweza East Africa, and Risha Chande as the moderator.
Save the date – May 10, 2023, from 13:00 to 15:00 GMT, and join us via Zoom.
