Mohamed Sarjoh Bah, a 23year-old security guard, made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No. 2 Wednesday, 5th January 2025, on a count charge of Larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused, Saturday 21st December 2024 at Caritas Office- Makeni City, Bombali District in the Northern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone, stole one Toyota Land Cruiser Vehicle with registration number AUY 527- valued at thirty-five thousand, five hundred and eighty-five United States dollars ($35,585), property of Caritas Makeni.
When the charge was read and put to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty.
The accused was not legally represented so far.
The prosecution counsel, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh, sought for a short adjournment date to have proper conference with his witness.
Meanwhile, magistrate Bangura refused bail based on the nature of the offence, charged and sent him on remand in the male correctional center in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to 13th of February 2025 for the continuation of his trial.
