Mohamed Junior Konneh, a 19-year-old security guard, Wednesday, 4th December 2024, made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on a count of House Breaking and Larceny contrary to Section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on Thursday 14th November 2024 at Cape Sierra Hilton Hotel Compound- Susu Village, Aberdeen in the Western area in Freetown, the accused broke and entered into the house of Shashi Prakash Singh with intent to steal therein, and did steal seven hundred meters of 1.5 electrical cables valued at fourteen thousand Leones, seven hundred; 2.5 electrical cables valued at three thousand new Leones- all to the total value of seventeen thousand new Leones(17,000), property of Shashi Prakash Singh.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person. No plea was taken.
The prosecutor, DPC 18235 Thoronka K.K, sought for a short adjournment date because his witness was absent in court.
The accused person was not legally represented.
Magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
The matter was adjourned to the 12th December 2024 for further proceedings.
