Freetown, Sierra Leone, Ishmeal Kanu a twenty-one 21 years old security has been sentenced following his final appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No 2 on one count charge of Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Sunday 21 July, 2024 at no 85 Sir Samuel Lewis Road Aberdeen Freetown in the Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone stole one grinding machine that value nine thousand two hundred Leones (9,200) the property of Ahmad Achkar.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor Thoronka told the Magistrate that the accused person that he had no previous criminal records against him and the machine has been returned to the owner.
The accused was not legally represented and he pleaded with Magistrate Bangura to temper justice with mercy on his behalf
Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person Magistrate Bangura ruled that since this is his first time and the said machine is with the owner, he hereby sentenced him to six months imprisonment to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
