He furthered that, the Junior Men’s Patriot lies in group B along with Rwanda, Botswana and the host Nigeria for the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup Africa Division 2 qualifier slated for late September 21st to early October 2nd 2022.

Also, for the first time, the Sierra Leone Women’s U-19 Cricket team will participate in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s Cricket World Cup Africa qualifier in Botswana that will kick off on the 3rd September 2022, he disclosed.

He however informed that huge finance support to the tune of Two Hundred and Eighty Thousand United States Dollars ($280,000.00) is needed by the Sierra Leone Cricket Association to enhance the team’s high-performance camping, airfares, hotel accommodation, travel allowances, medical expenses, training and playing kits among other emergencies.

Chairman Samura therefore implored government and development partners to support the team’s participations at the various competitions.
