Sierra Leone’s National Football Team, the Leone Stars, has been drawn into Group G for their qualifying for the Afcon 2024.

It would be a tough and a challenging path after being placed in Group G for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Their opponents include the formidable reigning champions, Ivory Coast, with whom Sierra Leone had an exciting 2-2 draw during the 2021 AFCON.

Zambia also poses a significant challenge, having crossed paths with Sierra Leone in previous encounters.

Completing the group is Chad, adding to the competitive lineup.

The Leone Stars have a history of stepping up when it counts, and they are determined to secure a spot in the 2025 AFCON finals in Morocco, marking their fourth appearance in this prestigious tournament.

The Leone Stars had a bittersweet battle to face alongside defending champions Ivory Coast, Chipolopolo of Zambia  and Chad in Group G for the 2025 Afcon.

The qualifying matches will be played over the FIFA international windows of September, October and November this year.

The top two best ranked nations from the Group will qualify for the tournament proper, which will be held in Morocco in December of next year.
