Speaking during a recent engagement with Sierra Leoneans in Canada, Dr. Bangura stressed that Sierra Leone deserves better leadership and direction to improve the lives of its people. He emphasized that his aspiration is built on the conviction that the nation requires a committed leader who will place the interests of citizens above all else.

“Sierra Leone needs a leader who is ready to sacrifice, to work for the people, and to restore hope in governance,” Dr. Bangura told the gathering. “This is not just about the APC; it is about our country, our people, and the future we want to build together.”

Highlighting the importance of the upcoming 2028 general elections, Dr. Bangura urged the APC to remain steadfast, united, and focused on winning the trust of the electorate. He noted that the election is a crucial moment in Sierra Leone’s democratic journey, presenting an opportunity for the APC to bring forward a candidate who embodies integrity, dedication, and vision.

“This is the time for the APC to stand firm and show Sierra Leoneans that we are ready to lead with responsibility,” he said. “We must work together to win, and to do that, we need to put aside our differences and rally behind whoever emerges as the flagbearer.”

Dr. Bangura’s message resonated strongly with the Sierra Leonean diaspora in Canada, many of whom expressed appreciation for his humility, inclusiveness, and focus on national development. He reminded his audience that political leadership is not about personal ambition but about service to the people.

“We are stronger when we are united. No single individual can win an election alone. It takes a collective effort, the energy of party members, and the trust of the people. That is why unity within the APC is essential if we are to secure victory in 2028,” he added.

The aspirant also reassured Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora that their contributions remain critical to the nation’s growth. He called on them to remain engaged in the political and developmental processes of the country.

“Whether you live in Freetown, Bo, Makeni, Kono, or abroad here in Canada, Sierra Leone is our common home. We all have a responsibility to contribute to its progress, and leadership must reflect that inclusiveness,” he said.

Dr. Bangura concluded by reiterating his readiness to serve Sierra Leone with honesty and dedication. He encouraged APC members to see beyond personal or regional interests and focus instead on the bigger picture of reclaiming governance and transforming the nation.

As the APC moves closer to deciding its flagbearer for the 2028 elections, Dr. Bangura’s message of unity and service has set a strong tone for the party’s internal discussions, underscoring the need to prioritize the interests of Sierra Leone above all else.
