The President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), Ahmed Sahid Nasralla, on Tuesday, April 25 visited the offices of the Embassy of Sierra Leone in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, 1701 19th St NW, Washington, DC, US.
Nasralla met with Ambassador Sidique Abou-Bakarr Wai and Diaspora Coordinator Rachel Horner. They talked about the work of the Embassy, the Diaspora office, and the situation back home.
Ambassador Wai told the SLAJ President that Sierra Leoneans in the US are supportive of the work of the Embassy and he commended them for their huge remittances back home to support their families and relatives.
The SLAJ President thanked the Ambassador and his team for their efforts in mobilizing Sierra Leoneans in the US and assured him that the media will continue to play its role in promoting a positive image of the country to the international community.
President Nasralla is expected to participate in the Embassy’s virtual program in commemoration of Sierra Leone’s 62nd Independence Anniversary on Thursday, 27th April 2023.
The SLAJ President is in the US on the US State Department-funded Edward Murrow Program for Journalists/International Visitor Leadership Program which ended on April 21 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
