Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President, Babadi Kamara paid a maiden courtesy visit to Leone Rock Metal Group on Thursday 23 October 2025, to express gratitude for the company’s continued support of football development in the country and to officially present the newly constituted Men’s Premier League Board.
Accompanied by Acting General Secretary Ing. Mohammed Benson Bawoh, President Kamara formally introduced the new board to Leone Rock’s management. The delegation was warmly received by Chief Technical Officer Salim Sillah, who reiterated the company’s ongoing commitment to advancing football in Sierra Leone.
Leone Rock Metal Group has served as the headline sponsor of the Men’s Premier League for the past two seasons, playing a pivotal role in revitalizing the nation’s top-flight football. The company initially contributed $80,000 for the 2023/24 season, the highest in the league’s history at the time, and increased its support to $150,000 for the 2024/25 season, marking the largest sponsorship ever recorded in the league’s history.
In his address, President Kamara commended Leone Rock for its exemplary corporate leadership and steadfast partnership, describing the company as “a cornerstone in Sierra Leone’s football transformation.” He emphasized that such collaborations are crucial for building a strong football ecosystem capable of delivering long-term success and national pride.
“Leone Rock continues to thrive as a successful company because there is peace and stability in our country, a peace that football helps to sustain,” Kamara said. “Football remains one of the strongest unifying forces in any nation. Without it, many of our young boys and girls who are now playing the game could easily be drawn into drugs or forced into unwanted and unplanned migration.”
He further highlighted that Leone Rock’s investment goes beyond sponsorship, representing a deep commitment to youth empowerment, peace, and national development.
President Kamara also noted that the newly presented Men’s Premier League Board will work closely with both local and international stakeholders to enhance the league’s structure, visibility, and competitiveness. The initiative aims to ensure that Sierra Leonean football continues to progress on all fronts, from grassroots development to professional competition.
The visit concluded with both the SLFA and Leone Rock Metal Group reaffirming their shared vision of strengthening their partnership to inspire young talents, promote unity, and elevate the standard of football nationwide. The company’s continued role as headline sponsor underscores its dedication to the Men’s Premier League and the broader development of football in Sierra Leone.
Through initiatives like these, both the SLFA and Leone Rock Metal Group aim to create a sustainable and thriving football environment that empowers young athletes, fosters community cohesion, and showcases the nation’s talent on a larger stage.
