The Sierra Leone Football Association will tomorrow Saturday December 9 officially launch the first ever U12 and U14 National Youth Championship at the Koidu Mini Stadium in Kono Town as Golden Soccer FC are set to entertain Shaw United in the U12 and Cosmos FC will lock horns with Soccer Lions FC in the U14 at 2 pm and 4pm respectively, to grace the highly anticipated opening ceremony.
The tournament is aimed at revamping grassroots football which is the lifeblood of the game to encourage mass participation in the sport (no matter the ability or age), stimulate interest in the sport, and provide new opportunities for people of different social backgrounds to play the game.
The history making event will be witnessed by the SLFA Vice President- 1 Harold Nat-Johnson who has consented to take the symbolic kick-off and officially declare the tournament open.
