The Sierra Leone Police through the Community Relations Department has told journalists that the Police would commence on community sensitization with key messages of peace in various communities on Monday 29 August.
Head of Community Relations Department at the SLP, CSP Edna Sumana Silver, made this statement on Thursday 25 August 2022 in a weekly Police Press Conference held at George Street in Freetown.
CSP Sumana Silver said the community sensitization was undertaken to assure the public of their safety and security, adding that it would also demystify misinformation and fake news, which had “become commonplace in our society”.
She urges the public to be listening to mainstream media channels for genuine and official news. SLP is stressing that rights go with responsibility, which the public must be aware of, she added.
Come Monday 29 August 2022, she said, the security sector, which is comprised of the SLP, RSLAF and ONS, covered by the media, will jointly continue the sensitization drive in various communities within the city and its environs.
