The Sierra Leone Port Authority (SLPA) Civil Engineer, Michael Ndolenje has broken silence with regards the ongoing extension at the port among other facilities therein.

He said that the move to extend the country’s port is in the right direction as it has the potential to attract more bigger investors into the country when fully done.

Eng. Michael Ndolenje last Friday 14 2023 made this disclosure, during a joint conducted tour at the construction site by management and Civil Society Organizations. Speaking during the tour the expert strongly expressed passion for President Julius Maada Bio’s developmental and transformative policies and encouraged all to support the drive.

He expressed his profound appreciations to the management of the Sierra Leone Port Authority for supporting the extension of facilities aimed at capacitating the port in the attainment of regional and international benchmarks governing Ports cross the globe.

“The move by the management of the SLPA to take CSOs on a conducted tour to enable them to see and acquire a firsthand information, ask questions and raise concerns with comments on the project forms part of the openness of the process of expansion,” he said.

The engineer said the institution will continue to engage CSOs and the media as a demonstration of openness in their dealings.

He registered his profound appreciations to CSOs and the media for honouring the institution’s call and encouraged them to educate citizens about the infrastructural and economic benefits that await the extension project when fully completed.
