The presentation took place at the SLPP national headquarters, where party supporters gathered in anticipation of the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The donation was aimed at supporting members of the party, particularly Muslim faithful, as they prepare to celebrate Eid.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman Songa conveyed warm greetings to the grassroots supporters and commended them for their continued loyalty and dedication to the party. He acknowledged the sacrifices made during Ramadan and praised the Muslim Jamaat for their commitment to observing the holy month.

He expressed appreciation for the role of grassroots supporters in strengthening the party’s foundation, noting that their efforts remain vital to the growth and unity of the SLPP. According to him, the donation reflects the leadership’s recognition of their contributions and the need to support them during important religious celebrations.

Chairman Songa also used the opportunity to encourage unity among party members, urging them to remain committed to the values and vision of the SLPP. He emphasized that collective effort and mutual respect are key to achieving both party and national goals.

Members of the national executive present at the event echoed similar sentiments, reaffirming their commitment to engaging and supporting supporters at all levels. They highlighted the importance of maintaining close ties with the grassroots, especially during significant moments such as Ramadan and Eid celebrations.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the timely support, describing the donation as a meaningful gesture that would help ease the burden of preparing for the festive period. Many noted that such interventions strengthen the bond between the leadership and ordinary supporters.

The distribution of rice and cash was carried out in an orderly manner, ensuring that those present benefited from the initiative. The atmosphere at the headquarters was marked by appreciation and a sense of togetherness as supporters interacted with party leaders.

The event also served as a moment of reflection, with calls for continued peace, unity, and cooperation within the party and the country at large. Participants were encouraged to carry forward the lessons of Ramadan, including generosity, patience, and compassion.

As Sierra Leoneans prepare to mark Eid al Fitr, the gesture by Chairman Songa and his team highlights the importance of solidarity and support during religious celebrations, reinforcing the spirit of giving and community engagement.
