The Deputy National Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Robert Kondema Kargbo, today engaged with the party grassroots at the SLPP Headquarters in Freetown. He expressed profound gratitude for their unwavering support and emphasized their critical role in strengthening the party. Mr. Kargbo reminded members that the confidence reposed in his Boss, Chairman Jimmy Batilo Songa, and himself would not have been possible without the steadfast backing of the grassroots.

In his remarks, Mr. Kargbo formally presented himself and Chairman Songa to the grassroots, reaffirming that the new executive is committed to changing the narrative and delivering results that reflect the aspirations of party members. He described Chairman Songa as “the people’s chairman,” noting that this new era will be energetic, inclusive, and impactful. Drawing from his background as a civil society activist, he assured members that the leadership is working on concrete measures to enhance the welfare and livelihoods of supporters across the country.

He further encouraged the grassroots to remain vigilant and serve as watchdogs at the party headquarters, ensuring that security remains tight and the interests of the SLPP are protected. As a demonstration of solidarity and appreciation, Mr. Kargbo, on behalf of himself and Chairman Songa, donated bags of rice and cash tokens to the Women on Grounds, Men on Grounds, and Ataya Base groups at the party headquarters.
