For almost three decades, Sierra Leone has shown a remarkable and consistent pattern in its democratic journey, a peaceful transfer of power between our two major political parties every ten years.
This pattern is not accidental; it reflects the will of the people, the resilience of our democracy, and the belief that every decade offers a new opportunity for leadership, renewal, and progress.
Our history speaks for itself, from 1996 to 2007; the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), under the leadership of the late President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, governed for ten years, leading the nation out of civil war and laying the foundations for peace.
From 2007 to 2018, the All Peoples Congress Party (APC), under Dr Ernest Bai Koroma, ushered in a decade of stability, growth, and infrastructural development. It was a period when Sierra Leone saw visible progress, international respect, and economic expansion.
Power was peacefully transferred to Julius Maada Bio of the SLPP in 2018, and by 2028, the SLPP would exhaust its fair share of ten (10) years in governance, just as history has always allowed.
This clear 10-year transition cycle has become a democratic rhythm for Sierra Leone a rhythm that ensures no single party dominates forever. Instead, it allows new ideas and leadership to shape the country every decade. This is what makes our democracy strong.
As we approach 2028, the message is simple and powerful:
It’s time for change.
It’s time to allow another party to lead.
It’s APC effective 2028.
Young people have always been at the heart of change.
In 2028, tens of thousands of Sierra Leoneans, particularly Gen Zs, will be voting for the first time.
You are not just future leaders, you are today’s decision-makers. Your votes will decide the direction of our country for the next decade.
The APC believes in creating economic opportunity job creation, empowering youths, and building industries that offer real chances for Sierra Leoneans to prosper.
The APC’s track record speaks for itself roads, energy projects, and the patriotic fight against drug trafficking were the backbone of the last APC decade. The Party stands to do even more in its next inning.
The APC has always produced strong, accountable leadership that listens to the people and delivers results.
It has always been a party that values inclusive governance and uniting Sierra Leoneans from all regions, religions, and backgrounds.
The SLPP has had its ten years. Sierra Leone has always moved forward when leadership rotates. This isn’t just about party politics, it’s about keeping our democracy healthy, dynamic, and fair. When power rotates, development accelerates.
In 2007, Sierra Leoneans voted for change and they got it.
In 2028, you can make history again by voting for the All Peoples Congress Party.
The time is coming for a new chapter. Let us honour the tradition of peaceful democratic transition, let us choose development over stagnation, and let us return power to the All Peoples Congress Party for the next ten years of progress.
Vote APC in 2028, the Sun will rise, and Sierra Leone will be great again.
