The Sierra Leone Reporters Union (SLRU) has officially transitioned leadership from the Amadu Lamrana Bah executive to a new team led by Yeanor Esther Kabia. The handing over ceremony was held at the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists’ headquarters on Campbell Street in Freetown.
SLAJ President Ahmed Sahid Nasralla addressed the incoming executive, emphasizing the importance of honouring their manifesto commitments. He urged President Yeanor Esther Kabia to align her leadership with the Union’s mission and vision, ensuring both continuity and progress in promoting journalistic standards and media freedom in Sierra Leone.
Outgoing SLRU President Amadu Lamrana Bah reflected on his term’s achievements and challenges, and committed to supporting the new team in fostering a collaborative environment for media professionals.
In her acceptance speech, President Yeanor Esther Kabia expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her and shared her vision for the Union’s future. She underscored the significance of unity, professional growth, and advocacy for reporters’ rights, pledging to work tirelessly to promote the interests of the SLRU and its members.
