Freetown, 16 April 2025 (SLENA) – The Ministry of Social Welfare has reaffirmed its commitment to family welfare by extending further support to a Freetown couple raising quadruplets, during a follow-up visit held on Tuesday at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The family of Mohamed S. Kamara and Fatmata K. Sesay, residing at 16 Old Arbadeen, Crab Town, Lumley, received warm greetings and assistance from the Ministry, marking their second official visit since the birth of their quadruplets in 2024.
Welcoming the family, Minister of Social Welfare, Madam Melrose Karminty, commended Mr. Kamara for standing firmly by his wife and children despite the challenges associated with raising multiple babies.
“Seeing this young man support his wife and quadruplets is a clear demonstration of love, responsibility, and dedication,” she noted.
The Minister presented the family with two 50kg of rice and a financial donation as part of the Ministry’s continuous support to vulnerable families. She further lauded Mrs. Sesay for her resilience and care, acknowledging that raising four children simultaneously is a significant undertaking.
Director of the Family Unit, Madam Worokia Content, said the Ministry remains committed to safeguarding family values and providing support systems to ensure the well-being of children across the country.
In his remarks, Mr. Kamara expressed gratitude to the Ministry, particularly the Family Unit, for their sustained engagement and practical assistance, which he described as timely and impactful.
Minister Karminty assured the family that the Ministry’s doors remain open to them and encouraged the couple to continue nurturing their children in love and unity, which she described as a possible sign of blessings and prosperity.
