The Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima, has welcomed the executive of Arm Wrestling Association.
Addressing the new executive of the Arm Wrestling Association at her Bishop House office in Freetown.
She started by extending her congratulations and offering words of encouragement to the executive as they embark on their new roles.
Madam Minister acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead but talked about the confidence in the new leadership. “I have been in sports for a while, so I know what it means,” she stated,
She stressed the importance of development within sports, noting that earning respect and credibility comes from tangible achievements.
Madam James-Teima also countered the misconception that sports is a “dumping ground,” asserting the importance of sports and its contributors.
She praised the association for adding to the existing sporting disciplines in Sierra Leone and recognized their responsibility and commitment to success.
“We are happy you have added to the existing sporting disciplines. So far, you’ve shown that you are responsible and committed to succeeding,” she noted.
The Minister of sports applauded the team for securing two gold medals, which she described as evidence of their dedication to sports development.
She encouraged the executive to continue working cohesively as a team, expressing her optimism about their future contributions to Sierra Leone’s sports landscape.
