Distinguished Guests, Persons With special needs, Ladies and Gentlemen,

I first of all want to acknowledge all of the people with disabilities who are here, and all of the people who care for them, provide services for them, and most importantly I want to acknowledge all of you that love the disabled people.

Centre for Disability and Less-Privilege (CDP) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization established in Freetown in 2024.

Qcell Qcell Qcell

Our main mission is to establish a well-equipped Rehabilitation Centre (RC) and a home that can accommodate both persons with disabilities (PWDs), their caregivers, and less-privileged individuals, specialized healthcare services and therapies tailored to the needs of disabled and less-privileged persons, plus an educational and vocational centres equipped with appropriate technology, and trained staff to provide tailored education and technical skills for Persons with Disabilities for re –integration in the Society

People with disabilities faces higher levels of challenges in our society among which includes the following:

Higher level of psychological distress, Poor health conditions due to outdoor exposures,
Higher rates of poverty, Higher rate of motility etc.

In addition to our main aim and objective which is to establish a Rehabilitation Centre for the Disable, CDP raise awareness and advocate for the rights of disabled and less-privileged persons within the broader community in Sierra Leone, we provide daily drop-in medical services at our center at 84 Kissy Road so that minor problems can be detected and treated before turning into major and possibly life-threatening problems for Persons living with disabilities, we do house to house visits for PWDs that cannot make it to our treatment centres due to distance and offer free medical check-up and treatments right in their homes. We also provide specialized healthcare services and therapies tailored to the needs of disabled and less-privileged persons right at their door steps like the one we are having now.

Persons with disabilities have the right to have good conditions, to equal opportunities, to participate fully in the life of their community. All have a right to a life without barriers

I have discovered that people with disabilities are amazing people.

they continue to inspire us to appreciate life, in most instances they do remarkable things which many able – bodied people cannot do.

But most of all today, all that I want for people with disability, for the people who love them, for the people who work with them is, hope.

Hope for a better life. hope for a better tomorrow!!

Center for Disability And Less Privilege (CDP) is a vehicle of hope for Disabled people in Sierra Leone.

I encourage all of us gathered here today to join CDP to continue riding the vehicle of hope for the Disable and Less privileged persons in Sierra Leone.

I thank you all!
